TendheartPractice

Tendheart Privacy Policy

DRAFT. NOT LEGAL ADVICE. NOT REVIEWED BY A LAWYER. This launch draft describes the current web app. Legal review is still pending.

Effective date: November 6, 2026.
Operator: Barella Ventures LLC, Oregon. Privacy and support contact form.

1. The current service

Tendheart is communication-skills education for adults 18 and older, not therapy or health care. There are no accounts, payments, subscriptions, or child-user features in this build. AI practice is not available to Illinois or Nevada residents. Location and age are self-declared, not independently verified.

2. What stays on your device

Your lesson progress, quiz results, points, streak, optional faith-track setting, age confirmation, self-declared state and random device identifier are stored in your browser's local storage. Static app files may be cached by a service worker for offline use. Local storage remains until you reset progress in Settings, clear browser data, or remove the app. There is no account to delete or cloud progress sync.

3. AI practice messages

When you send a practice message or request feedback, your messages and the selected scenario are sent through a Netlify Function to Google Gemini to generate the response. Your self-declared state and adult-confirmation flag are sent to our function to check eligibility. The application processes conversation text in memory and does not write practice transcripts to an application database. Messages also remain in the open page's memory until you leave or reload it. We do not intentionally log conversation text.

An automated keyword screen runs in your browser and on the server. If it flags a message, the app pauses practice and shows crisis resources instead of sending that message to Gemini. These checks can miss a crisis or flag harmless text. AI output may also trigger the screen.

Do not enter real names, children's identifying details, diagnoses, health information, or other sensitive personal information. Google processes API requests under its applicable Gemini API terms. Data-use and retention rules can differ between free and paid services. We have not verified this project's billing tier or a provider no-training commitment, so we do not promise that Google never uses submitted content to improve its services. Google may retain data and process it outside your state.

4. Waitlist and contact forms

If you join the waitlist, we collect your email to send Tendheart updates. If you contact us, we collect the email, topic and message you submit and an optional name. Netlify Forms stores these submissions and may process spam-prevention and technical information, including IP addresses. Do not put private family or health details in a support message.

We have not configured automatic deletion or an automated unsubscribe system. To leave the waitlist or request deletion of a form submission, use our contact form. We will review requests manually. Provider backups and technical logs may have their own retention schedules; these have not been independently verified.

5. Service providers and technical data

The current providers are Netlify (hosting, serverless functions, security/rate limiting, and forms) and Google Gemini (AI replies and feedback). No payment or marketing-email provider is integrated. Netlify may process IP addresses, browser information, request metadata and operational/security logs. See Netlify's privacy policy.

A best-effort daily request counter is held in function memory and may reset when an instance restarts; short-term per-IP rate limiting is also applied by Netlify. These are not an absolute spending cap.

6. Sharing and advertising

We have not integrated advertising, analytics trackers, or a data-sale feature. The app sends information to the providers described above to operate the service. We may also disclose information when legally required or as part of a lawful business transfer. We do not operate our own AI-training pipeline.

7. Adults only and your choices

Children under 18 may not use the app. If you believe a minor submitted information, please use the contact form so we can investigate. Parents should describe scenarios without identifying their children.

You can stop using AI practice, turn off the faith track, and reset local progress in Settings. Clearing the site's browser data removes local settings and caches. Resetting local progress does not delete a waitlist or contact submission; request that separately through the contact form. You may request access, correction or deletion of information you submitted, and ask about applicable privacy rights. We may need to verify your request. This build does not offer an in-app data export or automated privacy-rights portal.

8. Security, scope and changes

The live site uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure. This draft does not claim an independently audited security program or a specific provider retention period. The app is intended for U.S. adults outside Illinois and Nevada. We will update this page when the service or practices change.
